Brave little tailor 4 The Brave Little Tailor is a 1938 American animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. The film is based on the fairy tale of the same name collected by the Brothers Grimm. It was directed by David Hand and stars Pinto Colvig as the voice of the tailor. The film follows the story of a brave little tailor who, after defeating a giant, is proclaimed a hero by the King. The tailor is then sent on a quest to defeat a fierce dragon, but he is able to outwit the dragon and make it his pet. The tailor then returns to the King and is rewarded with the hand of the Princess in marriage. The film was well-received by critics, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 11th Academy Awards. It was also voted the third-best Disney animated short film in a poll conducted by the British Film Institute in 2004.
