It is the fourth installment in the Arcania series and a sequel to Arcania: Gothic 4. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. The game follows the story of the original Arcania: Gothic 4, where the hero, King Rhobar III, is killed by an unknown assailant. The player takes control of a new hero, who is tasked with uncovering the mystery behind Rhobar"s death and saving the kingdom of Argaan from the dark forces that have invaded it.
