The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The game is set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective. Players control Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young Italian noble, and follow the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins and Templars. The main story follows Ezio"s quest to uncover the secrets of the Assassins and to avenge his family, who were betrayed and murdered by a Florentine nobleman. The game received critical acclaim, with praise particularly directed at the game"s open world design, narrative, characters, visuals, and soundtrack. It won several awards, including the BAFTA Award for Best Action Game, and was nominated for the Game of the Year award. It was followed by Assassin"s Creed: Brotherhood
for CNC and 3D printers.
