Battlefield 2142 is set in 2142, during a new ice age, depicting a war known as "The Cold War of the 22nd Century", in which two military superpowers – the European Union (EU) and Pan Asian Coalition (PAC) – battle for the remaining unfrozen land during a new Ice Age. The game features a variety of gameplay modes, such as Conquest, Titan, and Assault Lines. The Conquest mode, similar to previous entries in the series, involves capturing and holding control points to drain the enemy"s tickets. The Titan mode introduces a new type of gameplay, where each team has a large warship (the Titan) that can be destroyed by the opposing team.
