The anime series was produced by d-rights and Nelvana under the direction of Kunihisa Sugishima. It aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from April 5, 2009 to March 27, 2010. The manga series was written and illustrated by Takafumi Adachi and serialized in Shogakukan"s CoroCoro Comic. The first volume was released on August 28, 2008, and the last volume was released on August 28, 2010. The series follows the adventures of Ginga Hagane and his friends as they battle to become the best Bladers in the world.
