Aparan in Armenia 3 Aparan is a town located in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. It is located in the northwestern part of the country, on the left bank of the Kasagh River, at an elevation of 1,600 m above sea level. It is the administrative center of the Aparan Municipality. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town was 6,822. Aparan is known for its medieval monuments, including the churches of St. Astvatsatsin, St. Gevorg, and St. Stepanos. The town is also home to the Aparan Reservoir, which is the largest artificial lake in Armenia.
