Artik in Armenia 3 Artik is a city in the Shirak Province of Armenia. It is located on the Akhurian River, near the border with Turkey. The city has a population of around 22,000 people and is the administrative centre of the Artik District. The city is known for its many historical monuments, including the 11th-century St. Stepanos Church, the ruins of the 12th-century Artik Castle, and the 19th-century St. Gevorg Church. Artik is also home to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, which commemorates the victims of the 1915 genocide.
