The inhabitants of the commune are known as Albertivillariens or Albertivillariennes. The commune has been awarded four flowers by the National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom in the Competition of cities and villages in Bloom. Aubervilliers is a major industrial and commercial area of the Paris metropolitan area. It is home to many large shopping centers, including the Aubervilliers Les Halles shopping center, the largest in the region.
