Madhyapur Thimi in the NEPAL 3 Madhyapur Thimi is a municipality in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. It is located around 8 km east of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. The municipality was formed in 1997 by merging two former Village Development Committees, Thimi and Madhyapur. The municipality is divided into 13 wards and covers an area of 10.63 km2. The total population of the municipality is 50,125 according to the 2011 Nepal census.
