Plymouth Montserrat Plymouth Montserrat is a former capital of the Caribbean island of Montserrat. It is located in the south of the island and was the largest settlement on the island until 1997, when it was destroyed by the eruption of the Soufrière Hills volcano. The town was abandoned and remains largely in ruins today.
