Acylophorus madecassus Acylophorus madecassus is a species of antelope found in the dry forests of Madagascar. It is the only species in the genus Acylophorus. It is a small antelope, with a shoulder height of around 50 cm and a weight of up to 20 kg. It has a reddish-brown coat, with white patches on the face and legs. The horns are short and slightly curved. The species is mainly solitary, and feeds on leaves, shoots, and fruits. It is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN, due to habitat loss and hunting.
