Adalatherium hui Adalatherium hui is an extinct species of mammal that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 66 million years ago. It was discovered in Madagascar and is considered one of the most unusual mammalian species due to its unique anatomical features. The name "Adalatherium" translates to "crazy beast" in Malagasy and Greek, reflecting its strange characteristics. It was a relatively large mammal for its time, with a body length of about 60 cm (2 feet), excluding the tail. Its features include more holes on the face (foramina) than any known mammal, an unusually large hole in the snout, and a unique pattern of tooth replacement.
