Carcharhinus sealei 1 The Carcharhinus sealei, commonly known as the blacktip reef shark, is a species of requiem shark found in the tropical and subtropical waters of the Indo-Pacific. It is a relatively small species, growing to a maximum length of about 1.5 meters (5 feet). It has a slender body with a pointed snout, small eyes, and a black-tipped dorsal fin. It feeds primarily on small fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. The species is considered to be of least concern by the IUCN, and is found in many protected areas throughout its range.
