Majungasaurus 3 Majungasaurus was a large predatory dinosaur that lived in what is now Madagascar during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago. It was a member of the abelisaurid family of theropod dinosaurs, and was one of the last surviving non-avian dinosaurs. Majungasaurus was a large and heavily built animal, with a short, deep skull and powerful jaws. Its body was covered in armor-like scales, and it had two horns on its head. Its tail was long and flexible, and it had three-fingered hands and feet. Majungasaurus was an apex predator, and likely fed on other dinosaurs, as well as smaller animals such as lizards and mammals.
