The minor workers are smaller, and have smaller heads and mandibles. The little yellow ant feeds on small insects, honeydew, and other sugary substances. They are also known to feed on seeds and grains. They live in colonies, and are often found in disturbed habitats such as gardens, fields, and lawns.
