Prestosuchus 2 Prestosuchus is an extinct genus of archosauriform reptile from the Late Triassic period of what is now South Africa. It is known from several partial skeletons found in the Elliot Formation of the Karoo Basin. It was a medium-sized predator, about 3.5 meters long, and was likely an active predator. Its skull was long and narrow, with a deep snout and large, curved teeth. Its body was heavily built, with a short tail and strong limbs.
