Semnopithecus hector Semnopithecus hector, commonly known as the gray langur, is a species of Old World monkey found in the Indian subcontinent. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Gray langurs are medium-sized primates, with a head-and-body length of around 50–75 cm and a tail length of around 75–100 cm. They are mainly grayish-brown in color, with a lighter underside. They are mainly found in forests, grasslands, and urban areas. They are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, leaves, flowers, and insects.
