This species is typically found in disturbed habitats such as pastures, urban areas, and agricultural land. The wasp is black and yellow in color, with a body length of around 2 cm. It has a slender body and a long, thin abdomen. The wings are transparent and the legs are long and thin. Polybia anglica builds its nests in sheltered areas, such as in tree cavities, under eaves, and in hollow logs. The nest is made up of a single comb with several tiers of cells, each containing a single egg. The wasp feeds on nectar and small insects.
