Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Klin The Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Klin (Russian: Кафедральный собор Новых мучеников и исповедников Клина) is a Russian Orthodox cathedral in Klin, Moscow Oblast, Russia. It was built in the late 19th century to commemorate the victims of the persecutions of the Russian Orthodox Church in the 19th century. The cathedral is a part of the Klin Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The cathedral was built in 1887–1889, and was consecrated in 1890. It was designed by the architect Aleksey Shchusev in the Neo-Byzantine style. The interior of the cathedral is decorated with frescoes depicting the martyrs and confessors of the Russian Orthodox Church. The cathedral is a popular pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians, and is visited by thousands of pilgrims each year. It is also a popular tourist attraction, and is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of the Russian Federation.
