The pillar stands at approximately 30 feet tall and is situated on the north side of the canyon. It is composed of two distinct sections, the lower part of the pillar being a single piece of sandstone, while the upper part is made up of several smaller pieces. The pillar is estimated to be around 200 million years old and is an example of the ancient sandstone formations that make up the canyon.
