Majungasaurus Majungasaurus is an extinct genus of abelisaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Madagascar during the late Cretaceous period, about 70 to 66 million years ago. It was a large carnivore, measuring up to 8 meters (26 feet) long. Its skull was robust and heavily built, with a deep, narrow snout and a large, blunt horn on its nose. Its teeth were small and sharp, and its arms were short and robust. It is the only known dinosaur to have been found in Madagascar.
