Heroes of Might and Magic II The Succession Wars 1 Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars is a turn-based strategy game developed by New World Computing and published by the 3DO Company in 1996. It is the second installment in the Heroes of Might and Magic series. The game is set in the fantasy world of Enroth, and follows the struggles of Lord Ironfist as he attempts to reclaim his throne from his brother, Lord Slayer. Players take control of one of four factions, each with its own unique units, spells, and heroes. The game is divided into two parts: a strategic map, where players move their armies and heroes, and a tactical battle screen, where battles between armies are fought. The game was well-received by critics, who praised its graphics, sound, and depth of gameplay. It was followed by Heroes of Might and Magic III in 1999.
