Albertosaurus Albertosaurus is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in western North America during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was one of the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. Albertosaurus was a bipedal predator with a large skull, equipped with dozens of large, sharp teeth. It may have hunted large ornithopods, although it may have been a scavenger as well.
