Hercules-TV series 5 The fifth season of the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys television series premiered on October 4, 1998 and concluded on May 23, 1999. It consisted of 22 episodes. The season opens with Hercules and Iolaus in the Underworld, searching for the lost soul of a young girl. They soon find themselves in the middle of a civil war between the forces of Hades and those of his brother, Zeus. Hercules must then find a way to restore peace to the Underworld and help the girl find her way back to the land of the living. Other episodes in the season include Hercules and Iolaus battling an evil centaur, Hercules facing off against an old enemy, and the two heroes helping a village threatened by a giant. The season also features the return of several characters from previous seasons, including Autolycus, Salmoneus, and Aphrodite.
