Alexandru Vaida-Voievod Alexandru Vaida-Voievod was a Romanian politician who served as Prime Minister of Romania from 1939 to 1940. He was a member of the National Peasants" Party and was known for his staunchly pro-German stance during his time in office. He was also a noted anti-Semite, and was responsible for passing a number of anti-Jewish laws in Romania. Vaida-Voievod was overthrown in 1940 and fled to Germany, where he died in exile in 1942.
