Qusair Amra Jordan 7 71 Qusair Amra is a small village located in the northern part of Jordan, approximately 45 kilometers east of the city of Irbid. It is best known for its 8th century castle, Qusair Amra, which is one of the best preserved examples of early Islamic art and architecture in the region. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist attraction. Other attractions in the area include the nearby village of Umm Qays, the ruins of the ancient city of Gerasa, and the Mujib Nature Reserve.
