Qutb Minar Tower India The Qutb Minar is a 73-meter (240 feet) tall tower located in the Mehrauli area of Delhi, India. It was built in 1193 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the first Sultan of Delhi, to commemorate his victory over the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi. The tower is made of red sandstone and marble, and is inscribed with verses from the Quran. The tower is surrounded by several other ancient monuments, including the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the Iron Pillar of Delhi, and the Alai Darwaza.
