Carcharodontosaurus 11 Carcharodontosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous period. It was one of the largest known terrestrial predators, measuring up to 12 meters (39 feet) in length and weighing up to 8 tonnes (17,600 pounds). Its name means "shark-toothed lizard," referring to its large, serrated teeth. It is believed to have hunted large prey such as sauropods and other dinosaurs.
