Dracorex 1 Dracorex is an extinct genus of herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period. It was first discovered in the Hell Creek Formation of South Dakota in 2004. It was a member of the Pachycephalosauridae family and was closely related to Stygimoloch. Dracorex was a small dinosaur, measuring only about 6 feet long and weighing around 100 pounds. Its most distinctive feature was its skull, which was covered in large, bony plates and spikes. It is thought that these features were used for protection or for display during mating rituals.
