Tarbosaurus 3 Tarbosaurus is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was one of the last and largest non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. It was a large bipedal predator, measuring up to 12 meters (39 ft) in length, with a weight of up to 5.2 metric tons (5.7 short tons). It had a long, low skull and powerful jaws, as well as two small horns above the eyes. Its teeth were large and serrated, and it had a long, heavy tail.
