Warcraft II Beyond the Dark Portal 3 "Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal" is an expansion pack developed by Blizzard Entertainment for the highly successful real-time strategy game "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness". It was released in 1996 and added two new campaigns, additional units for both the Human and Orc factions, and several new multiplayer maps. In the expansion, the storyline continues after the events of the original game. The dark portal, which the Orcs used to invade the human realm of Azeroth, has been reopened by the powerful mage Khadgar. The human alliance must now venture into the Orc homeworld of Draenor to prevent a potential second invasion. However, there isn"t a "Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal 3". The Warcraft series continued with "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" and its expansion "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne", followed by the massively popular MMORPG "World of Warcraft".
