Battle of Fenudong 1 Battle of Fenudong was a major battle fought between the Tang Dynasty and the forces of the Tibetan Empire in 790 AD. The battle was fought near the modern city of Fenudong in Sichuan Province, China. The Tang forces were led by the general Li Guangbi, while the Tibetan forces were led by the king Trisong Detsen. The Tang forces were victorious, and the Tibetan forces were defeated. The victory allowed the Tang to expand their control over the area, and to secure their borders with Tibet.
