Belle de jour- movie 7 Belle de Jour is a 1967 French drama film directed by Luis Buñuel and starring Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, and Michel Piccoli. The film follows the story of a young housewife, Séverine (Deneuve), who spends her afternoons as a prostitute at a brothel. Despite her husband"s (Sorel) ignorance of her secret life, her relationships with the other prostitutes and the brothel"s clients begin to affect her marriage and her life. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards and won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
