Black Narcissus- movie 2 Black Narcissus is a 1947 British drama film directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. The film stars Deborah Kerr, Sabu, Jean Simmons, David Farrar, Flora Robson, and Esmond Knight. The film is based on the 1939 novel by Rumer Godden. It tells the story of a group of Anglican nuns who travel to a remote palace in the Himalayas, where they attempt to establish a school and a hospital.
