Black Narcissus- movie 7 Black Narcissus is a 1947 British drama film directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. The film stars Deborah Kerr, Sabu, David Farrar, Jean Simmons, Flora Robson, and Kathleen Byron. It tells the story of a group of Anglican nuns who establish a mission in the Himalayas, only to be confronted with their own repressed desires. The film was based on the 1939 novel of the same name by Rumer Godden. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and won for Best Cinematography.
