Brave little tailor- cartoon 6 Brave Little Tailor is a 1938 American animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. It is based on the fairy tale The Brave Little Tailor by the Brothers Grimm. The film was directed by David Hand and stars Mickey Mouse as the titular tailor. The film follows Mickey Mouse as a tailor who is mistaken for a giant-slayer after he brags about killing seven flies with one swat. He is then tasked with slaying a giant, but instead outwits the giant and captures him. The film was well-received upon its release and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 11th Academy Awards in 1939. It is also the first Mickey Mouse cartoon to win an Academy Award.
