Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag Assassin"s Creed 4 Black Flag is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the sixth major installment in the Assassin"s Creed series, and the fourth numbered title in the series. The game was released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U in October 2013, and for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in November 2013. The game is set in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, and follows the pirate Edward Kenway, grandfather of the series" protagonist Ratonhnhaké:ton, as he establishes a pirate republic and searches for a lost artifact. Players engage in naval warfare, exploration, and hunting. The game features three main cities—Havana, Kingston, and Nassau—which can be explored by the player. Assassin"s Creed 4 Black Flag received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the open world gameplay, side missions, visuals, and naval combat. The game was a commercial success, selling more than 11 million copies. It was followed by Assassin"s Creed Rogue in 2014.
