Satyrium iyonis Satyrium iyonis, commonly known as the Ionian Fritillary, is a species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found in the western Mediterranean region, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. The Ionian Fritillary is a medium-sized butterfly with a wingspan of 45–55 mm. The upper side of the wings is a bright orange-brown with black spots and the underside is greyish-brown with white and yellow spots.
