Stigmella expressa Stigmella expressa is a species of moth in the family Nepticulidae. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from California and Arizona. The wingspan is about 4.8 mm. Adults are on wing from April to August. The larvae feed on Salix species. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine has the form of a very narrow, linear, serpentine mine on the upperside of the leaf. The frass is deposited in a thin central line. The pupa is made in a silken cocoon.
