arms 0031 The coat of arms of the Municipality of São Vicente, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, is blazoned as follows: Gules, a cross Or, in chief a tower Argent, masoned Sable, and in base a ship of the same, sailing on waves Argent and Azure. The tower and the ship represent the importance of the port of São Vicente to the local economy. The cross is a symbol of faith and religion, two important values in the region. The colors red and gold are a reference to the colors of the flag of Rio Grande do Sul. The coat of arms was adopted on July 18, 1962.
