Argentinosaurus 3 The Argentinosaurus was a titanosaurian sauropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 94 to 97 million years ago. It is the largest known dinosaur, estimated to have weighed up to 80 to 100 tonnes and measured up to 40 meters in length. It had a long neck and tail, a small head, and four thick, pillar-like legs. Its body was covered in thick, scaly skin, and it had long, bony spikes on its back. Its diet likely consisted of leaves, twigs, and other plant material.
