Tarbosaurus Tarbosaurus is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in Asia during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was one of the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. It was a large carnivore, measuring up to 12 meters (39 ft) long, and weighing up to 5.2 metric tons (5.7 short tons). It had a large head with powerful jaws, and a long, heavy tail. Its teeth were designed for slicing through flesh.
