Warcraft III Reign of Chaos "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" is a high fantasy real-time strategy video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, and was released in July 2002. It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and it is the third game set in the Warcraft fictional universe. In the game, players collect resources, train individual units and heroes, and build bases in order to achieve various goals (in single-player mode) or to defeat the enemy player. Four playable factions can be chosen from: Humans, Orcs, (both of which appeared in the previous games) and two new factions, the Night Elves and the Undead. "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" is set in the kingdom of Azeroth and focuses on the events following the death of the human king, Arthas. The game"s story is told through all four of the game"s races in a linear manner. Players follow the path of Arthas, who descends into madness and becomes the Lich King, one of the most powerful beings in the Warcraft universe. The game was a commercial and critical success, and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time. It was followed up by an expansion pack, "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne", in 2003.
