Warcraft III Reign of Chaos 4 Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a high fantasy real-time strategy video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, and was released in July 2002. It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and it is the third game set in the Warcraft fictional universe. In the game, players collect resources, train individual units and heroes and build bases in order to achieve various goals (in single-player mode) or to defeat the enemy player. Four playable factions can be chosen from: Humans, Orcs, (both of which appeared in the previous games) and two new factions: the Night Elves and the Undead. Warcraft III introduced the Night Elves and the Undead, a major change from the earlier parts of the series. The game also introduced a day/night cycle to the series. Different from the previous games, in Warcraft III the gold mines can run out of gold. The game was met with universal acclaim from critics, who praised its gameplay, storyline, and voice acting. It has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling PC games of all time. In 2020, a remastered edition of the game, Warcraft III: Reforged, was released.
