Warhammer 40000 Dark Millennium Online 1 "Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online" was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that was in development by Vigil Games and THQ. The game was set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a dark, dystopian future setting where humanity is beset on all sides by hostile alien races and supernatural threats. In the game, players would have been able to choose from a variety of factions and races from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, including the Imperium of Man, the forces of Chaos, and various alien races such as the Orks and Eldar. Gameplay would have involved both PvE (Player vs Environment) and PvP (Player vs Player) combat, with players able to form alliances and guilds with other players. However, due to financial difficulties, THQ announced in March 2012 that they were cancelling the project. The game was never released and its development assets were sold off to other companies. The game"s cancellation was a major disappointment for fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, as it would have been the first MMORPG set in this universe.
