Holy noble Prince Igor , Prince Igor was a Kievan Rus" prince and military leader who lived in the late 10th and early 11th centuries. He is best known for his role in the failed campaign against the Polovtsians in 1185, which was immortalized in the epic poem The Tale of Igor"s Campaign. He is also credited with founding the city of Chernigov and establishing the Chernigov Principality. He is venerated as a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
