Argentinosaurus 1 Argentinosaurus was a genus of titanosaurian sauropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 95 to 100 million years ago. It is one of the largest known dinosaurs, with an estimated length of up to 30 meters (98 feet) and a weight of up to 80 tonnes (88 tons). Its name means "Argentine lizard". It is known from a single incomplete skeleton, which was discovered in 1987 in the Candeleros Formation of Patagonia.
