Argentinosaurus 2 The Argentinosaurus was a large, long-necked, quadrupedal herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period. It was one of the largest land animals ever to exist, estimated to have been up to 115 feet long and weighing up to 110 tons. It was discovered in Argentina in 1987 and is known from only a few incomplete fossil specimens. Its diet likely consisted of leaves, twigs, and other vegetation.
