Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne 1 "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne" is an expansion pack for the 2002 real-time strategy game "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released worldwide on July 1, 2003. The expansion pack introduces new units for each race, two new auxiliary races, four campaigns, five neutral heroes (an additional neutral hero was added in April 2004), the ability to build a shop and other improvements such as the ability to queue upgrades. Sea units were reintroduced; they had been present in Warcraft II but were absent in Reign of Chaos. The game"s single-player campaign is divided into five campaigns, each featuring a different race. The first campaign, starring the Night Elves, serves more to introduce a colorful new water-dwelling race, the Naga. The second campaign shifts focus to the Undead and acts as a prelude to the main Undead story in the Frozen Throne. The third campaign follows the Orcs, and the fourth campaign consists of seven missions that are focused on the Humans. The Frozen Throne also includes a world editor which enables a plethora of custom, community-created games from which the players can play cooperatively online, or in single player. Some of these custom campaigns even continue the story from where it left off.
