It is the expansion pack for "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos" and follows the second game in the series, "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness." The game was released in the United States on July 1, 2003. In "The Frozen Throne," players return to the war-torn world of Azeroth. Several months have passed since Archimonde and the Burning Legion were defeated at the battle of Mount Hyjal, yet a new threat has arisen throughout the land. The evil Lich King Ner"zhul has been imprisoned inside the Icecrown glacier, deep within the arctic continent of Northrend. Although the former Orc Shaman lacks physical form, his soul lives on, forever seeking a means to escape his icy prison. As the saga continues, it is revealed that both the demon-tainted Night Elf renegade, Illidan, and the mortal, Prince Arthas, seek the Icecrown glacier and the dread power it holds. What is new in the expansion is the addition of a new hero for each race, the ability to play as the neutral heroes, the introduction of shops, and a new campaign for each race. Each campaign is packed with new units and buildings that further enhance each race. However, there is no "Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne 7." The game only has one expansion pack,
for CNC and 3D printers.
